Overview

"Mastering the Sony PMW-F3 Camcorder" training DVD is the quickest way to learn both the fundamentals and advanced features of this amazing Super-35 camcorder and it's state-of-the-art tapeless XDCAM EX workflow.

This is not a superficial review of the camcorder nor a quick look at the various functions. It took two months and more than 450 man-hours to research, write, plan, shoot, and edit this 4-hour, 3-DVD workshop. This training video not only tells you "what" a feature does, it also tells you "why", "when", and "how" to use it.

This is as close to a one-on-one training session as you can get without actually hiring Doug Jensen for personal instruction. How much is your time worth? For a small investment you get to tap into a wealth of knowledge that would normally take many days to acquire on your own... assuming that you ever discovered some of the tips and functions covered in this training DVD.

"Mastering the Sony PMW-F3 Camcorder" includes tutorials, step-by-step examples, and detailed instructions covering the most important aspects of camera setup, menus, shooting techniques, choosing a video format, clip naming, file management, clip importing, Picture Profiles, time-code, programming the assign buttons, customizing the viewfinder display, freeze-mix, white balance, multi-matrix, proper use of Zebras, jam-syncing, focus assist functions, shutter speed, gain, time-lapse, slow-motion, camera data files, lens options including Zeiss Compact Primes, Schneider Cine-Xenars, Sony PL lenses, Nikon SLR lenses, best practices for importing and archiving footage, and much more.

Please note: This training DVD explains what the "RGB S-LOG" and "3D-Link" options are all about, but it does not go into detail on how to actually use these optional features. Purchasing these advanced upgrades from Sony will cost an F3 owner several thousand dollars each, plus they require the use of very expensive external devices -- therefore they go beyond the scope of this training DVD.

This DVD is a completely independent production with no sponsorship, input, or approval from Sony. It delivers unbiased information and professional advice that can't be found in the official PMW-F3's operation manual.

This workshop is designed to help anyone, from a novice to an experienced ENG/EFP shooter, get the best results from their PMW-F3. The DVD provides real-world examples and suggested techniques that are simple to put into practice. All Vortex Media training DVDs are carefully researched, planned, and written to teach you what's important -- without getting bogged down in jargon or unnecessary technical details. This DVD will pay for itself many times over by saving you hours of time learning the PMW-F3 on your own.
