Movie Magic Scheduling is a database program that allows you to break down your film or video project in a flexible and easy-to-use manner. Used by more than 95% of film and television production management teams, Movie Magic Scheduling is the industry standard for scheduling breakdowns.
Breakdown Pages and Quick Entry
Use the import feature to pull breakdown information from scripts written in three of the standard script formatting programs. Or, just as simply, using the Movie Magic Scheduling quick-entry feature, break down the script scene by scene without retyping the same information. Your breakdown pages serve as the database entry page. No need to hand write production board strips. All the information in the breakdown pages becomes the master data which can be sorted and organized in any of the report forms that you need.
Sort and Select/Board Swap
The Sort and Select feature is a quick way to rough out passes at a schedule. Want to see how a schedule lays out with certain locations being shot first? Sort by location and select specific locations to sit at the head of the schedule. Want to see what happens if all exteriors are grouped together? Save your first pass with Board Swap and then try another strategy. With a simple click, your options are laid out for comparison. Sort by cast, location, sets, or sequences. Movie Magic Scheduling is designed for maximum flexibility and ease of use.
Banners and Auto Day Breaks
With Movie Magic Scheduling you can add day-breaks to your schedule in moments. Using the page counts entered on your breakdown pages, Movie Magic Scheduling can automatically add day-break banners so that every day has a specific page count. Plug in "3 pages per day" and see how long the shooting schedule will be. Too long? Plug in "5 pages per day" and see if you're within the budgeted number of days. Too ambitious at five pages per day? Use a strip reports layout to print out the two options so you can take your reports with you to negotiate for more days.
Day-Out-of-Days/Best Drop
Movie Magic Scheduling creates your day-out-of-days quickly and easily, with work days, hold days and total days calculated for each principal cast member. And now with a new best drop feature, Movie Magic Scheduling can determine the best drop/pickup scenarios for all your cast. Day-out-of-days can also be created for special equipment, picture cars, special costumes and props, and specialized personnel like prosthetic makeup artists and choreographers.
Design Your Own Layouts
Movie Magic Scheduling has preset industry standard layouts for production schedules, one-liners, vertical and horizontal strips, and day-out-of-days. These layouts are easily customized through the design layouts feature, or you can create whatever layout you want in minutes.
Integrates With Movie Magic Budgeting and Wireless AD
Use Movie Magic Scheduling in conjunction with Movie Magic Budgeting and Movie Magic Wireless AD. By using the export feature you can transfer your scheduling data into either of these programs in a matter of minutes.
Scheduling allows the exporting of any elements scheduled in the project. The element name, number of workdays scheduled, and even rate information can all be exported into the appropriate accounts in Budgeting.
And now with Movie Magic Wireless AD, you can export your breakdown information directly into call sheets and production reports.
