Movie Magic Budgeting is for producers, production managers and production accountants who want to easily and accurately create documentary, film and television budgets. The ability to instantly see the effects of changes in your budget makes this estimation tool invaluable.
Movie Magic Budgeting, used by more than 95% of the industry, helps you take control of your budget by following the money, line by line.
Three Levels of Account Detail
Three-level budgeting makes it simple for anyone to create, edit and submit budgets. Movie Magic lets you enter an unlimited number of lines of detail per account at the bottom level. All lines of detail are then totaled into sub-accounts, which are then totaled at the top level, called the top sheet. Your top sheet and sub-accounts are calculated instantaneously as changes and additions are made.
Movie Magic is easy to navigate and there is no limit to the number of categories on your top sheet, accounts per category, or lines of detail per account. There are also more than 25 standard film, television and video budget forms that you can use and customize for your production.
Globals
Using the global search, replace and recalculate features gives you the flexibility to instantly reflect changes in your budget in seconds. Globals allow you to change any aspect of your budget (such as shooting, prep, or wrap period) at any time -- before, during or after your budget is completed. Think you might need two more weeks of prep but not sure if you can afford it? Add two weeks to your prep global and recalculate your budget instantly to see what the cost will be. Globals are the perfect shortcut for analyzing budget options.
Fringes
The fringe feature incorporates several of the most versatile methods of setting, displaying and titling union fringe benefits. With a minimal number of keystrokes, you can calculate separate fringes for individuals, sub-accounts or top-level accounts. Fringes can be also be posted at each production level, or as a lump sum at the end of the budget. No more frustrating calculations, individual by individual. Fringes allows simple and accurate budget allotments without the hassle.
Subgroups
The "subgroups" feature allows you to plan for "what if" budgeting scenarios. For example, by using subgroups you can create the same budget for two different cities within the same budget file. You have the option of switching from one city to another to compare budgetary impacts. In seconds, Movie Magic Budgeting will recalculate the entire budget -- showing you the appropriate detail for the city you choose to shoot in.
