Power Writer Interface
Power Writer is designed to work for you, not the other way around. A standard,
familiar interface means you can jump in and be comfortable almost immediately,
while the power under the hood lets you really make the program yours: with draggable
toolbars, user customizable keystrokes, a powerful built-in Macro language and much more.
Power Writer's normal Word Processing screen probably looks very much like the
one you're used to seeing. However, hidden on the left and bottom of the main
screen are the Outline View and Story Tools frames respectively, which can be
slid out with a simple mouse click or control-key press.

Fully editable Outline View means that you can restructure your story in the outline view and the manuscript will automatically be updated to conform to the revised order.
Three kinds of Notes cover all your research/rewriting needs: Global Notes for basic story research, Embedded Notes for on-screen reminders, and Referenced Notes which are notes that are referenced to a specific piece of text and which dynamically pop-up the text of the note when you position your cursor over it!
On-screen Dictionary-style Word Definitions are built into the integrated Thesaurus, and the spell check offers optional real-time auto typo correction and onscreen underlining of misspelled words.

Power Writer supports cut & paste
from any other well-behaved Windows program, in addition to being able to read
and write RTF (Rich Text Format) files created by virtually any program, including
all the popular word processors such as Microsoft Word, Corel WordPerfect and all
major Script Writing packages such as Movie Magic Screenwriter and Final Draft.
