Power your new PMW-EX1 or PMW-EX3 camera with your existing 12v DC power supplies and battery packs.
The EXDC1 is a heavy-duty cable that has a regular 4-pin XLR power connector on one end
and Sony's non-standard EX1 power connector on the other end. Now you can power your the PMW-EX1
or PMW-EX3 camcorders with any professional 12v battery or AC adapter that you already own.
It also works with the PMW-EX30, the SBAC-US10, and even the PDW-U1 XDCAM HD optical disk drive
for complete mobile editing without any AC power.

A great feature of Sony’s XDCAM EX cameras is that they can be powered by other external 12v DC power sources. And if you're like many EX owners, you probably already have other 12v batteries and professional 12v AC adapters that you'd like to use with your camera. The problem is, until now, it has been difficult to actually connect other professional power sources to the camera because of Sony's non-standard DC input jack.
But now that problem is solved. The EXDC1 from Vortex Media allows you to easily and safely power your Sony EX1 and EX3 cameras (and even accessory drives) from just about any 12v power source*. The 1.8 m (6 ft) EX1DC cable has a standard 4-pin XLR connector power connector at one end and Sony's non-standard DC plug at the other end. Now you can use AC adapters and battery systems from Anton Bauer, IDX, Sony, Frezzi, and others. If you've already got a professional 12v battery and/or AC adapter -- chances are they can now be used with your EX camera.
What else can you power with the EXDC1? Sony uses the same non-standard 12v jack on many of their new XDCAM products such as the PMW-EX30 SxS Recording deck, the SBAC-US10 SxS drive, and even the PDW-U1 XDCAM HD optical disk drive. Now you can transfer all of your SxS cards or XDCAM HD optical disks in the field without using a camera as a drive or hooking up to AC power. The EXDC1 simply gives you more mobile options to power all of your equipment in the field -- anytime and any place.
Are you frustrated by the Sony BC-U1 AC Adaptor/Battery charger that comes with the EX1 because it will only do one task at a time? Either power the camera or charge a battery? Now with the EXDC1 cable you can power your camera from from an alternative 12v source while you use your BC-U1 for charging your batteries.
You'll gain freedom and flexibility with the EXDC1 4-Pin XLR to DC Adapter cable. Now just about any 12v DC battery or AC adapter can easily be used to power your EX camera and XDCAM accessories.
All EXDC1 cables are rigorously tested to ensure quality and performance.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Power source must meet the required specifications for your camera or drive.
The EXDC1 4 Pin XLR to DC Adaptor is sold as a "stand alone" product and is simply a "pass through" that meets the polarity standards of the Sony XDCAM EX cameras when used with industry standard 4 Pin XLR power configurations.
Due to the fact that this cable is a “pass through” with no voltage regulation, it is the user’s
responsibility, when using the EXDC1, to ensure that power sources meet both the polarity and voltage requirements of their camera or equipment. (EXDC1 Specs Pin 4 to Shell, Pin 1 to Tip)
